Well if you've been wondering where I've been, I don't blame you. This website now refuses to let me add pictures so I was just going to stop doing blog posts, but I figured I could write about my travels, and Facebook pictures would suffice. I've also been non stop so I have barely had any time for anything! Now that the weather here is beautiful, we go to the beach pretty much every day. I also joined a rowing team. It was just twice a week for a month, but it was so much fun! On the last day we rowed out to the sea and all jumped in. Getting back into our boats was such a struggle haha.
I also have been/will be traveling like crazy. I'm somewhere new each weekend in April! The first weekend my roommate Erika and I went to Hamburg, Germany. Erika has family there so we stayed with her cousin and her family. She spoke perfect English but the rest of the family did not. I had never real heard German before and I felt so lost! I couldn't distinguish any words it was the most out of place I have felt. But the cousin was extremely nice, and so interested in what we had to say. Erika and I explored the city of Hamburg on foot and did a bus tour. We did some shopping, and one night went to the red light district. It was so nice to stay in a home with a family, a dog, and homemade meals. I didn't even realized how much I had missed that until I had it.
Last weekend 7 of my friends and I went to Ibiza. This was the first trip we booked back in January and it's bizarre that it's already over now. We stayed in apartments on the beach with a pool and DJ right outside our balcony. We were basically at the party without having to leave our rooms, we lucked out. It was typical college spring break fashion with music and drinks flowing at all hours. It was insane. We went to a club that was like a jungle circus (I don't know how else to describe it!) and at 4am water shot out from the walls and the dance floor became a pool. Insane!
Tomorrow I leave for Amsterdam. I am meeting with my friend Lisa from home who is studying in Barcelona. I have a 19 day spring break which is absurd and overwhelming.
Today also marks one month until I'm home. It feels like just the other day I was marking one month since I arrived. When I return from break I will have less than two weeks left. Reality has totally sunken in for all of us and its so bittersweet. I am taking advantage of each and every moment I have left here. I'm excited to come back home but I am definitely going to miss all of the people I met, this beautiful city, and my insane life abroad.
